A Brief History:
Marmul Travel
& Tours, founded in
1988 with handful of Staff with one Branch
office, but today has a staff well into
fifties. The goal of its founders H.E Abdulla
Shaban Al Farsi and Mr. Ali Mansoor Al Nassery,
was to build a quality travel Organization
offering competitive prices, and always
mindful of the needs of the Oman Traveler.
Their goal has been realized, and today
‘Marmul’ sounds as marvel,
is recognized as leader in the Oman Travel
Trade.
In 1997, Marmul Travel & Tours opened
its first branch office in Ruwi. The company
now operates over 9 travel offices in
the region.

times. This is the testimony to our reputation
in the Travel Market. Apart to this, we
have also won the Silver Awards of many
Airlines, including Oman Air, Royal Jordanina
Airlines, Srilanken Airlines etc…
We have still kept our option open to
acquire GSA of any International Airline,
ofcourse it is our ambitious plan as well.

in the Travel Market to work as a GSA
and promote the Airline to a highest level.

most well respected financial institution
namely ‘Bank Muscat’, guaranteeing
the greatest level of financial security.
It is an fully Omani owned Company, represented
by H.E (Mr) Abdulla Shaban Al Farsi (Chairman)
and Mr. Ali Mansoor Al Nassery (CEO).
The owners hold many public positions
apart to their holding government offices,
and hold several assets in the form of
Lands, Buildings, Investments, Share holdings
and other institutions (Hotel Golden Oasis)
etc.

Mrs. Mebal Pinto - General Manager
A merited professional heads the
organization since 1999, prior to
that she was serving as the Financial
Controller of the company for almost
since the inception of the Organization.
Her strong will, foresight and ability
have proved tremendous progress
in the company, with 8 new branches
being opened during her tenure.
The staff strength of the company
has been raised to 52, with vigorous
sales strategy, which indeed was
her first step to her expansion
plans.
On the threshold of a new millennium she
feels proud of her organization has grown
and nurtured albeit a very humble beginning
22 years ago. She says "Marmul"
will always hold its pride in catering
the needs of the customers through their
highly professional sales and service
team along with their passenger friendly
ideals, which takes care of both frequent
and infrequent travelers. She is full
of confidence that the tradition of this
kind will raise them to glorious heights.

The travel agency market is competitive,
and technology, namely the Internet and
Computerized Reservation Systems (CRS),
has changed the operation of the travel
agencies. We therefore acquired 3 Reservation
systems namely, Sabre, Galileo and Amadeus,
and obtained ADSL and Data communication
lines for quick and efficient performance.
Marmul Travel also provided web based
booking facility for the customers in
our website www.marmultravels.com,
and customers can register their client-ship,
search for fares, flight schedules online
to any destinations of their choice and pay by debit and credit cards (Visa and Master).
They have acquired very sophisticated
and most modern Accounting software from
the reputed Software Company, built on
Oracle back office.
Marmul Travel has done this by investing
in Information Technology infrastructure
and involving professionals from the related
fields.
Marmul Travel has established relationships
with providers of travel related products
and services. Couples of major ticketing
agencies, most of the big hotel chains
like Gulliver Travel Association (GTA)
and Destinations of the World (DOTW),
renowned and professional transporters
and above all local travel agents have
been selected as our supplier. Our professionals
will continuously evaluate all sourcing
jobs. Marmul Travel will take advantage
of trade shows, travel industry publications,
and other sources of industry related
information to monitor the quality of
its offering.
‘Marmul’ is it self a tool
which runs on state of the art technology.
We have tools to monitor each component
of a travel plan. It increases the speed
and efficiency with which Marmul Travel
can communicate with the suppliers and
also with the customers. The unique operating
strategy and the choice of the suppliers
will ensure the achievements what Marmul
Travel intends to achieve.
The distribution strategy of Marmul Travel
is focused on the target market both nationally
and internationally. Secondarily, Marmul
Travel seeks to establish its presence
in the community through the media.
We have a set of co-ordinates such as
infrastructure, human talent pool, local
expertise, etc, which are the foundation
of a destination management. We are in
a process of organizing the coordinates
of travel business those are related to
the economic development of a destination.
In a nutshell, our objective is to provide
the travelers with all the information
they need and that information not necessarily
the traditional information only those
can be day-to-day, real life data related
to a destination.
We are contributing more than 20% of the
total market share of the Oman Travel
Market to different Airline. Our key profitable
sectors are covering South East Asia,
Far East, Middle East, etc. Ofcourse,
other key sectors also includes Europe
as well.
